My, My, Where Does The Time Go?

So, I started this blog last year, in high hopes that I would be able to manage two blogs! HA! What was I thinking?

No, really, I do want two blogs. I really want this one to be more of a casual outlet, that is <mostly> non-food related. This can be about all of my adventures outside the kitchen, where it seems I spend most of my time. They might be rare, but they do happen! :)

The last couple months have been busy. I transitioned to a new job. That means that I finally left my job of 5+ years. It was a big step. One that I had been hoping for and yet dreading at the same time. It’s hard to step out of your comfort zone and into a new chapter of your life. I went from working in an office of 60 people to working in an office of me, myself, and I. Oh, and two dogs! So, let’s just say that life has changed quite a bit. Hubby has to remind me to take a shower and brush my hair. Just kidding … or, am I? ;)

But, with the new work-from-home job, I am now finding much more time for exercise.  The dogs and I are taking daily walks again. My yoga practice has decreased a little, since I lost two of my regular classes that I used to go to. However, I am purchasing a new Shiva Rea video. I checked it out from the library and loved it. It has this great “matrix” that allows you to choose your own routine. I think it’s hard enough and has enough options to keep me challenged for awhile. At least until I can afford to drop $15 per class!

Sorry for the infomercial-ish-ness of the following video, but it’s the only one I could find that shows the wide variety of sequences on the one video.

OK. Off to bed! Till next time. And I’ll do my best to make sure that is not months from now! Peace!

How Yoga CAN Wreck Your Body (If you don’t get your ego in check)

The article from last week’s New York Time’s has been bothering me non-stop since I read it. The more I think about it, the more fired up I get. It’s frustrating because I think many people will read it and shy away from yoga practice out of fear, when yoga could indeed be something that…
